Rebecca advises and represents individuals seeking to challenge public body decisions.  She is experienced in bringing judicial review proceedings and complaints regarding social care support for children in need and disabled adults and decisions made by government departments.  Rebecca also advises parents/carers and young people who need help with education issues.

Rebecca frequently receives referrals from advocates, support and campaign organisations and charities to challenge public body decisions and policies which affect asylum seekers, refugees, unaccompanied children, care leavers, disabled adults, adults and children with mental health difficulties and families with no recourse to public funds.

Rebecca also acts in Court of Protection cases where there are disputes regarding mental capacity, ‘best interests’ and challenges to standard and urgent authorisations under Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards (DOLS).  She acts for both relatives and protected parties who are referred to her by advocacy groups and the Official Solicitor.

Rebecca has a special interest in mental health law and she represents individuals who are detained under the Mental Health Act before the First Tier Tribunal (Mental Health).
