Career

With a background in litigation Simon has specialised for over 25 years in acting on behalf of landowners, developers and local planning authorities in relation to contentious development proposals promoted both through the development plan and development management processes, including appearing as an advocate at public examinations and inquiries and now heads up the planning team nationally.

He also advises on planning enforcement and in relation to certificates of lawfulness of existing or proposed development or use, including representation at enforcement appeals and in relation to planning injunctions.

Simon has an established reputation in High Court and Court of Appeal planning litigation including judicial review of decisions by local planning authorities and the Secretary of State, and has been involved in a number of key planning decisions in the course of his career.
