Chris has been with Russells since being taken on as an articled clerk in 1980 and having managed the firm and operated as Senior Partner for many years has become the firm’s Senior Consultant.

Chris’ clients have numbered some of the greatest talents of their generation to include artists, writers, composers, sportsmen and executives. Chris has also represented corporate clients such as independent and major labels and publishers as well as other organisations within the world of entertainment such as, film, theatre, book publishing, sport stadia, promoters, sport agents and celebrated restaurants. With 40 years’ experience in music and the wider entertainment industry generally the firm continues to draw upon his expertise, as too the clients he continues to advise and represent.

Chris Organ – Russells Solicitors

Russells Solicitors is an expert in catalogue sales and has an enviable client base which includes major record companies, publishers, producers, agencies, established and up-and-coming artists and writers. Music head Gavin Maude works with artists and executives and focuses on emerging talent (an area in which Jo Brittain is further instructed), although is also well-placed to advise film production and digital start-up companies, while litigation head Steven Tregear specialises in copyright infringement, contractual and audit claims. Maude and Tregear co-head the practice with managing partner Simon Esplen, who represents various music clients on commercial and contractual matters.
