Equality and Diversity
We are committed to championing a diverse workforce that reflects the communities in which we work and live. Our success as a firm depends on our ability to attract and retain the best and brightest, and to promote a work environment where anyone can achieve their full potential, regardless of factors such as gender, race, ethnicity, faith, age, sexual orientation or disability.
This commitment is underpinned by our Equality and Diversity (E&d) policy which ensures that we:
‚Äʬ†¬†¬†¬†¬†¬†¬†¬†¬†¬†¬†¬† Treat everyone we interact with (including suppliers, contractors and recruitment agencies) equally and fairly
‚Äʬ†¬†¬†¬†¬†¬†¬†¬†¬†¬†¬†¬† Recruit from the widest pool of qualified candidates possible and promote equal opportunity for all
‚Äʬ†¬†¬†¬†¬†¬†¬†¬†¬†¬†¬†¬† Create a working environment free from discrimination
‚Äʬ†¬†¬†¬†¬†¬†¬†¬†¬†¬†¬†¬† Monitor the effectiveness of our policy annually and take proactive measures to improve it
‚Äʬ†¬†¬†¬†¬†¬†¬†¬†¬†¬†¬†¬† Provide all staff with E&d training appropriate to their roles and responsibilities
We have always taken great pride in the approach we take in supporting all staff irrespective of background, sexuality, ethnicity and physical ability, monitoring and recording equality and diversity data at all levels and on an annual basis.

We take our CSR role very seriously; we are passionately committed to ensuring that our business is integrated with our CSR aims and objectives.
Our aims are concentrated in three areas:
-          To work in partnership with local communities

-          To develop relationships with employees which support and build on our CSR policy

-          To work in a way that minimises the impact we have in the environment, and encourage sustainability

We have a dedicated CSR committee chaired by a Charlotte Cook, Partner comprising representatives from across the firm (legal, trainee and support staff).
Each year, staff are given the opportunity to vote for a charity, which the firm helps to fund-raise by carrying out activities; we also aim to increase awareness among our staff and clients of the charities’ role in society.
Our official Charity of the year for 2016/17 is Providence Row; other charities supported have included Lupus UK, ABF The Soldiers charity, St. Mungo’s Broadway, Bede House Association, Alzheimer’s Society and Macmillan Cancer Support. Staff are also actively encouraged to take a CSR day with a worthy cause of their own choosing.

Pro bono ‚Äď we encourage our fee earners to participate in pro bono, we actively work in conjunction with Southwark Citizens Advice Bureau with their rent arrears clinic providing advice to tenants of the London Borough of Southwark who are at risk of being in rent arrears.
