Giulia joined the firm in March 2009. After achieving her second degree in law and her LPC with distinction in 2013, she qualified as a solicitor in 2014.

Having trained in immigration, family and public law, Giulia now practices in asylum, immigration and human rights work. She has developed a solid experience of working on a wide range of complex asylum claims, including unaccompanied minors, trafficking victims and LGBTI cases, as well as deportation appeals and Judicial Review claims in the higher courts.

Giulia has a special expertise and academic background in African politics, socio-cultural and gender-related issues. She collaborated in the preparation of the successful case of RT (Zimbabwe) in the Supreme Court.

She has been a guest speaker at SW Radio Africa in London and at various academic conferences in Italy. She speaks regularly at the UKLGIG asylum meetings.

Giulia was an external reviewer for “Rape as torture in the DRC: Sexual violence beyond the conflict zone” published by Freedom from Torture in 2014.

Prior to joining the firm, Giulia worked in the human rights research unit of the Immigration Advisory Service in London and as the Coordinator of the UNHCR programme at the Naga-Har Centre for asylum seekers and torture victims in Milan.

Giulia obtained in 2007 a five-year degree in Sociology and Social Anthropology at the University of Milano Bicocca with the top mark of 110 out of 110 cum laude. She achieved her Masters degree with distinction in Human Rights Law at SOAS in 2008.


Interests: Dancing, reading and travelling to Africa.
