Fletcher Day's ‘excellent’ practice provides ‘good quality, realistic and sensible advice’ and has particular expertise in the casual dining and retail sectors. Greg Barnbrook’s ‘understanding of the restaurant sectors is second to none’ and he is ‘particularly commercially-minded when crafting solutions’. Barnbrook was recently promoted to partner while Luiz Costa joined the firm from Healys LLP. Chris Hill leads the practice and is ‘very responsive and will go the extra mile for the client’. Recent highlights included acting for Kaye Properties Group on matters including unpaid service charges, a successful opposition to a planning application and the granting of a new lease pursuant to a sale and leaseback. Disputes concerning sales of land, forfeiture of deposits and specific performance are a core focus for the group. Claire Kitchen departed to Hodge Jones & Allen LLP.
