 Shona specialises in contentious work in an employment setting, including executive disciplinary action and severances, contractual disputes and Employment Tribunal claims. Shona also has significant experience in non-contentious work, including senior management restructures and transitioning staff under TUPE.
 Shona has a particular interest in contractual disputes, in particular the protection of commercial interests and confidential information, and has had repeated success in the High Court in enforcing restrictive covenants and confidentiality obligations. Shona is also experienced in the regulatory and governance aspects of corporate incentives and executive remuneration following her in-house role at Virgin Money.
 Shona’s commercial clients include those in the manufacturing, technology and financial sectors, and she has particular experience with educational clients including higher education colleges and academies. Shona also represents executives in high-value claims including contractual disputes, discrimination complaints and unfair dismissals.
 Shona has worked with a number of higher education institutions in the North West including Lakes College, University of Central Lancashire, Furness Academy and Riverside College, providing support with employment law advice and HR solutions including: 
 
  Successfully completing the extensive corporate restructure of a higher education client including several high level redundancies in the strategic team;
  Preparing a bespoke consultancy agreement for the clerk to the board of a higher education client;
  Advising on a wide-ranging redundancy exercise including education and support staff, including support during the consultation process, dealing with challenges raised by individual employees during the process and preparing and finalising staff settlements.
