Position

Sue is the partner who heads up the Manchester local government team. She has represented numerous local authority clients in relation to their litigation claims since qualification in 1999. She continues to handle a wide range of complex cases for her local authority clients with expertise in employer’s liability, public liability, child protection cases, assault cases, subsidence claims and high value quantum cases. Sue also advises on highway codes of practice, risk management and internal processes. Sue regularly delivers a range of training topics to her client organisations including specific training packages tailored to the needs of individual departments. She also speaks at national seminars on behalf of the local government group and at regional local authority events and conferences. Since 2011 Sue has provided bespoke training to all of her clients in relation to the Jackson/Solving Disputes reforms including advice on the legal and practical implications of the changes. She sits on the Weightmans LLP solving disputes working group as a representative for the public sector business line.
