Nicola Shand
Position
Nicola is an Associate in the London Healthcare team and acts on behalf of NHS Resolution and private insurer clients in a wide range of clinical negligence cases. She has particular expertise in dealing with sensitive and complex paediatric cases which have often attracted press attention. Nicola also has significant experience of both assisting with and managing her own caseload of high value claims including those related to maximum severity birth injuries, other types of neurological injuries, amputation and maternal death. She has experience of engaging in mediation and other forms of ADR at all stages of the litigation process, achieving positive results for her clients.
Nicola organises Weightmans’ healthcare seminar programme which covers a wide range of healthcare topics presented by external speakers and attracts a variety of NHS Resolution, NHS Trust and MDO clients. She also has experience of lecturing to medical experts on liability issues in clinical negligence cases.
