 Sarah Jane Knight is a Solicitor Advocate who leads on healthcare regulatory law in the Birmingham office and has a wealth of experience representing NHS Trusts and private (including not for profit) providers. 
 Sarah has conducted hundreds of inquests for NHS Trusts (including mental health trusts), individuals and care providers.  Her experience includes complex medical inquests, restraint cases, prison inquests, representation of the ambulance and 111 services and has experience as an advocate in military inquests.
 Sarah represented a not for profit organisation in the first prosecution of its type brought by CQC and advises on enforcement action brought by CQC (and other regulators) including representations against warning notices, notices of proposal as well as appeals to the First Tier Tribunal. Sarah has an in-depth knowledge of the particular challenges experienced by care providers including residential and domiciliary care settings and she also has considerable experience in Court of Protection proceedings including serious medical treatment cases and best interests decision making around residency.
 Sarah has also worked in house as an advocate for a professional regulator and has undertaken both prosecution and defence work in the professional regulatory sector.
