Rachel Donovan
Position
Rachel is a clinical negligence solicitor, specialising in birth-related cases. She is based in our Liverpool office.
Rachel qualified as a solicitor in June 2003 at Goodmans Solicitors where she worked from 1999 to 2009 specialising in claimant clinical negligence.
It was there that she found her niche in birth-related cases including CP cases and injury to mum, settling cases with values exceeding £15 million.
Further to her time at Goodmans, Rachel moved to John Pickering and Partners to start a department in Liverpool where she also set up HEADWAY Liverpool. After John Pickering, Rachel moved to Simpson Millar where she was made partner and ran the Liverpool office.
Rachel then took a career break to raise her children for 2½ years and came back in 2019 to work for SPG Law, where she ran the TVM Litigation case (product liability). Although she thoroughly enjoyed the causational aspect of this case, Rachel missed medical negligence and jumped at the chance to join Weightmans.
