Rachael is a Principal Associate based in our Liverpool office.  Rachael is also the Team Manager of one of our Local Government teams which deals with a wide variety of public liability and employers’ liability claims against local authorities, schools/universities and academies and housing associations.

Rachael has a particular interest in public liability claims brought against landlords and housing providers pursuant to the Landlord and Tenant Act 1985, Defective Premises Act 1972 and the Occupiers’ Liability Acts 1957 and 1984.  Rachael has a particular expertise in respect of injury claims arising from housing condition claims and works closely with our Property Litigation team providing input, advice and training on these claims.   Rachael regularly provides training to insurers, local authorities and housing providers dealing with the understanding of health risks and resultant injury claims arising from housing conditions.

Rachael also has a breadth of experience of dealing with EL and PL claims  brought against public sector organisations including those involving the Highways Act 1980, flooding, public and private nuisance (to include Japanese Knotweed claims), data protection and occupational stress.

Rachael has been regularly involved in delivering training events for clients on a range of topics and has been called upon to advise highway authorities on their Codes of Practice for highway maintenance.
