Graham is a Senior Associate in our Shipping and International Trade Team. He joined Birketts in January 2014.

Graham specialises in insurance and shipping litigation and has particular experience with goods in transit. He deals with claims involving cargoes carried by sea, including disputes on Bills of Lading and associated charterparties, as well as international (CMR) and domestic road haulage. He acts for claimants, defendants and their insurers, and has represented most types of company involved in the shipping, transportation and storage of goods. He has handled a wide range of cases including disputes involving containerised and bulk cargoes, refrigeration and ventilation requirements and errors, as well as issues relating to potentially dangerous goods.

Graham also has extensive experience handling claims relating to yachts and pleasure craft. He also drafts policy wordings and standard terms, where he emphasises the use of plain English. Prior to joining Birketts, he worked for over 10 years at a large international law firm..
