Walker Morris LLP has a strong pipeline of AIM-related work, a significant portion of which comes from clients in the IT/technology sector. Richard Naish, director Jo Stephenson and others acted for PROACTIS Holdings Plc in its $132.5m acquisition of Perfect Commerce in 2017; the deal constituted a reverse takeover under the AIM Rules. Other clients in this space include Software Radio Technology Plc, Servelec Group Plc, Cloudbuy Plc and Avacta Group Plc. The firm also generates work from clients outside of IT/technology, as was illustrated when Naish recently advised AIM-listed company Fishing Republic Plc with a £1.3m share placing. In addition to acting for companies, Naish assists NOMADs and sponsors. Another notable individual is Daniel O’Gorman, who has 20 years of equity capital markets/AIM experience, and was the lead adviser to the shareholders of Dee Valey Group Plc on their opposition to the £84m takeover of the company by Severn Trent Plc by way of a scheme of arrangement. John Hamer is the practice head.
