Career

Tom has specialised in both the contentious and non contentious fields of construction and engineering since qualification. He advises on projects ranging from commercial, residential and industrial developments to high value energy and waste schemes, procurement of bespoke plant and equipment as well as infrastructure and land remediation projects. On the contentious side, Tom has extensive experience of all forms of dispute resolution proceedings including mediation, adjudication, arbitration and Court. His client base includes listed companies, local authorities, developers, contractors, banks and specialist sub-contractors.

In offering advice from cradle to grave, he has developed a detailed understanding of the risks that are thrown up during construction and engineering projects and how to go about managing the same. He always strives to provide practical and commercial advice, focussed on what the client is seeking to achieve.

Tom Peel handles both contentious and non-contentious construction matters, and is known by market sources to be “very proactive, diligent and extremely competent in his field of practice.”

Walker Morris LLP

Walker Morris LLP‘s client base spans listed companies, local authorities, education providers, developers, contractors and consultants, which the team advises on contentious and non-contentious issues at a national and increasingly international level. Martin Scott leads the department and focuses on construction disputes, Tom Peel is active across the full spectrum of work, Jules Harbage handles energy projects, and senior associate Carly Thorpe is also a key name to note.
