Austin acts for a number of property investors and developers as well as national retailers and high street banks in relation to their own real estate portfolio. It is, however, in the field of real estate finance and insolvency that Austin is most widely recognised. He has, over a period of 15 years, gained a national reputation for the work he does with banks, insolvency practitioners and fixed charge receivers in relation to the real estate aspects of recoveries, restructuring and insolvency.

Described in the legal press as “excellent in difficult negotiations” and praised for his “straightforward and commercial approach”, Austin applies his excellent legal knowledge in a commercial, deal focussed manner to achieve optimum results.” 

High profile deals include acting on the insolvency of seven national retailers, acquisition or disposal of four flagship units on Oxford Street in the last six months, disposal of over £200 million of assets from fixed charge receivers in the last 18 months.
