Taylor Vinters Via LLC

Work Department

Intellectual Property (IP) and Technology, Media & Telecommunications (TMT)

Ying is the Managing Director of Taylor Vinters Via LLC.

Her practice is centred on advancing her clients’ business interests, particularly when it comes to their technology and/or intellectual property rights. She advises on both litigious and non-contentious matters. Being in a management role herself, she has a passion for assisting entrepreneurs and companies in growing and sustaining their businesses.

She is extremely dedicated to her clients who were instrumental in her being named as a leading individual for TMT Law from 2016 to 2019 by Legal 500 Asia Pacific, noted by Chambers & Partners for IP litigation in 2017 and for Technology, Media and Telecoms in 2020. She has also been fortunate to be highlighted in the “40 under 40” list of lawyers in Asia by Asia Legal Business in 2016 and the “2016 Singapore’s most influential lawyers aged 40 and under” list by Singapore Business Review. In 2018, she was named one of Singapore’s Top 100 Lawyers by Asia Business Law Journal and one of the world’s top ten cryptocurrency experts by The Cryptocurrency Magazine.

Having advised and acted for clients in technology adoption cycles and disputes, on both supplier and customer fronts, she is an advocate of formal relational contracts as she believes that strategic long term relationships are critical for competitive advantage. She realises that the same is true regardless of whether her client is a start up providing SAAS to well known medical groups or one of the world’s largest retailers adopting new technology.

Ying and her team also believe that distributed ledger technology will be a key enabler in various sectors and constantly seek knowledge in relation to the development and adoption of this technology. They have advised various players in their interaction with blockchain technology, including some of the biggest names in their respective sectors such as Nebulas and Gifto (which raised USD30million within 1 minute of the launch of its initial token offering).

Her clients come from various industries and her practice areas of interest are:

  • Intellectual Property law
  • Technology, media & telecommunication law
  • Commercial law
  • Corporate issues and Fund raising
  • Employment matters
  • Payment services and block chain related matters
  • Commercial disputes

She believes in moving her clients’ businesses forward without sacrificing their legal positions. She avoids being overly legalistic and gives advice that addresses the business risks and possible solutions.

If you have a dispute or a commercial transaction, particularly if it involves technology or intellectual property rights, Ying and her team can assist you.

Ying was admitted to the Singapore Bar in 2005 and started her legal career at KhattarWong in the corporate department. She then worked in China for 3 ½ years in a business role where she gained experience negotiating with Chinese parties. On returning to Singapore, Ying became active in litigation and subsequently joined Via Law Corporation in 2014. Via Law Corporation subsequently entered into a partnership with Taylor Vinters Via and was renamed to Taylor Vinters Via LLC in 2017. Because of her interest in litigation, Ying continues to be active in litigation matters particularly involving the protection of intellectual property.
