Position

Montserrat is a partner in our International Tax Group, based in Madrid. Having spent two years working within the banking industry and another twenty in the tax industry, Montserrat has a broad experience of providing tax advisory services to both financial and non-financial entities. Her experience includes coordinating and leading specialist teams on projects related to tax issues such as direct and indirect taxation, transfer pricing and tax controversy.

Career

With deep knowledge of the Spanish market, Montserrat has built her practice with a particular emphasis on the Spanish financial market and its regulatory framework, developing a greater understanding of her client’s tax needs. She is well connected in the Spanish financial market, and has regular contact with regulators and the Tax Authorities.

The author of many articles and chapters on tax issues, Montserrat also lectures and leads seminars on tax issues for ICADE, IEB, Chamber of Commerce of Madrid, IFE and IIR, among others.

Education

Montserrat holds a Bachelor of Law with a Major in Business from the Universidad Comillas in Madrid and took the Centro de Estudios Financieros course on the Spanish Taxation system in 1991. She is a qualified lawyer and member of Spanish Bar.
