Position

Antonio Cueto is a partner in our Intellectual Property Group, based in Madrid. His practice covers all IP-related matters including patents (involving mechanical, chemical, electrical and biotechnology patent areas) designs, trademarks, copyright and unfair competition (with particular expertise in the field of trade secrets). Antonio is extremely experienced in litigation with substantial experience in handling complex disputes relating to patents, trademarks, unfair competition and designs.

Career

He joined us in May 2010 having worked in the Intellectual Property Department of Gómez-Acebo & Pombo for eleven years. In 2006 he worked as a Foreign Lawyer in the Patent Department of Dorsey & Whitney LLP in the USA. He is author of several articles on Intellectual Property published in specialised publications and is co-author of the first Handbook published in Spain by Francis Lefebvre on Intellectual Property (Edition 2012-2013) and he is also the author of the chapter “Novelty and Inventive Step” of the recent book “The new Spanish Patent Law” (December 2015).

He has an extensive teaching experience in Spanish and foreign Universities and Foundations. In addition, Antonio is Professor at the Patent Module as part of the Master in Intellectual Property of the University of Alicante (Magister Lvcentinvs) since 2010.
