Position

As a partner in Bird & Bird’s Helsinki office and Head of our Competition & EU Law group in Finland, Katia Duncker specialises in complex competition and corporate matters.

Over the years, Katia has worked on a number of cutting-edge competition law and public procurement cases for prestigious clients, both nationally and internationally. She also has extensive experience in advising on commercial and corporate M&A transactions, and in litigation proceedings relating to competition law and public procurement matters.

Career

Katia is very business oriented which is essential in competition law and public procurement matters. In order to define whether a conduct is in compliance with competition laws, one has to understand the dynamics of the relevant market.

Competition law and public procurement are both fairly new legal doctrines in which she has had the pleasure to work in from the beginning. Seeing the evolvement of these two legal areas during her career has really deepened her expertise.

Today you’ll find Katia recommended in the Legal 500 EMEA, Chambers Europe and Best Lawyers in Finland directories.
