Position
Marta Koremba is a Partner and a co-head of the IP practice and head of the Brand Management and Life Sciences practices at Bird & Bird Warsaw office.
Career
Marta is a successful IP litigator representing clients in all contentious IP matters. She provides comprehensive strategic pre-trial and trial advice, including in preliminary injunction and enforcement proceedings. She has extensive experience in coordinating complex and multijurisdictional projects concerning IP protection.
She represents clients in opposition, invalidation and cancellation proceedings before the EUIPO and the Polish Patent Office. She also advises on IP aspects of parallel import, registration of non-conventional trademarks, anti-counterfeiting matters, as well as domain name recovery and keyword advertising.
She manages large trademark portfolios, supporting clients in choosing their branding and ensuring their global protection. She supports clients with transactional advice, in particular transfer of IP rights and licensing. She also specialises in unfair competition matters, including misleading designations, trade secrets, trade dress infringement.
Marta advises clients in innovative sectors, such as electronics, pharmaceuticals, chemicals, cosmetics, automotive, defence, and telecommunications.
In 2016 and 2017, she was nominated Rising Star: IP in Euromoney’s LMG Europe Women in Business Law.
In 2015, Marta was recognised by the Financial Times Innovative Lawyers competition in the category of Intellectual Property. She was also awarded Legal Rising Star 2015 by Wolters Kluwer and Dziennik Gazeta Prawna. She was the only patent attorney included among the winners.
She is a lecturer at the Polish Chamber of Patent and Trademark Attorneys (PIRP) and a co-author of the first commentary to the Polish Pharmaceutical Law published by Wolters Kluwer Poland in 2009.

Education
She studied Law and Economics at the Interdisciplinary Institute of Humanities Studies at Warsaw University in Poland, as well as at the Katholieke Universiteit Leuven in Belgium.
