Counsel and head of the Tax practice in Bird & Bird’s Warsaw office.

Career

Bartłomiej has been advising clients since 2003, and specialises in supporting clients with national and international tax issues arising out of commercial transactions, including international tax planning. He represents clients in tax control proceedings and tax litigation at the trial and appellate levels, representing tax payers of all kinds of taxes. He supports clients from the Corporate, M&A and Real Estate teams, e.g., advising on tax aspects of numerous share and asset acquisition deals. He also represents clients in numerous, often precedential tax disputes. Bartłomiej gained his professional experience while working for leading Polish and international law firms. He has written numerous articles published in specialist journals, and is a regular commentator for legal newspapers and periodicals, as well as a frequent speaker at Polish and international conferences and seminars.

He is admitted to the Bar of Certified Tax Advisors and the Warsaw Bar Association.

Education

Bartłomiej studied law and tax law at the University of Warsaw.  He also graduated from the Center for American Law Studies and the Center for English and European Legal Studies.
