Career

Mr. David Lee is a partner and the head of projects and energy practice at Lin & Partners. His main practice areas inlcude projects & energy, corporate and M&A, gaming & gambling, aviation & shipping, labor & employment, TMT, franchise & licensing, and complinace. His practices have been recongized by Legal 500 and Asia Law.
David spearheads Lin & Partners’s projects & energy practice, which has been recongized by Legal 500 as the Tier 1 Firm for consecutive years. He has extensive experience in advising clients on offshore wind farm energy, solar energy, hydro energy, IPPs, nuclear decommisson, ocean energy, corporate restructuring, and electricity unbundling.
David leads the firm’saviation and shipping practice. In the maritime and shipping sector, David advises cleints on ship building, ship reflagging, mortgage registration, sales & lease back, shipping insurance and reinsurance and joint venture formation. David advised Ocean Affairs Council of Taiwan on the regulatory framework for promotion of ocean energies. In the aviation sector, David advised Civil Aeronautics Administration on a wide range of regulaotry matters for consecutive years, inclduing those related to unmanned aerial vehicle, fatigue management, and compliance with ICAO airsafety standards. He also advises clients on matters in connection with aircraft componenet and general aviation busienss license.
In the gaming & gambing sector, David has been advised clients on land-based casinos, sports betting, and offshore online gaming. He assisted govenrement authoirties in several legislation projects, including the projects for casino-based inegrated resorts and enhancement of internal control requirmemt for sports betting operation. David is frequently to speak at or interviewed by gambling confernece or media on the development of the gaming industry in Taiwan, inclduing CNN. Bloomberg, VIXIO (Gambling Compliance), and G2E Asia.
David is also a core member in the firm’s TMT practice. He advises mobile brands, manufacturer, suppliers, software providers, and regulator on various regulatory and complinace matters. David assisted National Communicaitons Commission in establsihing an ADR scheme for telecom dispute and anlayzing the possible framework to counter cyber crimes.
In the coprorate and M&A practice, David has been advised clients on various matters thorughout the lifecycle of enterprises, inclduing company set-up, foreing investment, formation of joint venture and strategic alliance, business license application, contracting, merger and acquisition, corporate restructuring/ spin-off, and dispute resolution.
David graduated from National Taiwan University with an LL.B. and National Cheng-Chi University with an LL.M. In addition to law degress, David received an MBA from the Ross School of Business, Univeristy of Michigan.
