Position

Richard advises trustees and beneficiaries from the UK and around the world on asset-holding structures for clients with multi-jurisdictional assets, complex financing arrangements and diverse personal and business interests (including bloodstock, ships and aircraft, fine art and commercial and residential property in the UK).

He also advises professional practices and their partners on constitutional documentation, international structure, governance, acquisitions and disposals, regulation (especially by the Solicitors’ Regulation Authority) and disputes.

Richard is named as a Leading Individual in the Legal 500 Directory for both partnerships and contentious private wealth matters, and is listed as a Leading Individual in Chambers & Partners (UK).

He was named ‘Partnerships Lawyer of the Year (London)’ by Best Lawyers 2020. He has been ranked by the guide as a specialist in the fields of Trusts and Personal Tax, Asset Finance Law and Partnerships Law for a number of years.

Career

Richard qualified at Allen & Overy in December 1980 where he became a partner in 1985. He was a founder member of Maurice Turnor Gardner LLP.
