Wide range of criminal and human rights work, specialist areas include the following: serious criminal offences including murder, fraud and white-collar crime (including VHCC cases with the LAA); cases involving political activists such as environmental campaigners, Greenpeace; extradition; cases raising issues of freedom of expression, assembly and the right to a fair trial under the HRA 1998; international law and European Union Law (former member of the Law Society EU law committee); fresh evidence appeals against conviction.

Joined Bindman & Partners (now Bindmans LLP) as trainee 1990; qualified 1992; partner 1995 and now member. Publications: joint author of ‘The Law of Public Order and Protest’ (OUP 2010). Law Society Excellence Award 2011. Legal Action Group criminal defence lawyer of the year 2014.
