Head, Employment & Benefits (Disputes)


Jonathan advises and represents clients in complex corporate disputes arising from mergers & acquisitions, joint-ventures, partnerships, investment agreements, fund-raising situations and divestments. He frequently acts in shareholders’ disputes and situations involving the breach of directors’ duties, negligence, fraud, conspiracy, misrepresentation, defamation and breach of contract.

As Head of Rajah & Tann’s Employment & Benefits (Disputes) practice, he represents and advises employers and C-Suite/management level employees and stakeholders in all contentious employment matters including those involving breaches of confidentiality, non-solicitation and non-competition clauses, diversion of corporate opportunities, claw-back of salary, bonus / commissions and stock options and allegations of wrongful termination and constructive dismissal. He has advised on and led internal investigations, disciplinary and termination proceedings on matters such as the theft and misuse of proprietary information, sexual harassment, workplace bullying and discrimination.

He represents employers and corporations in engaging with the Ministry of Manpower (MOM), Tripartite Alliance for Fair & Progressive Employment Practices (TAFEP) and the Central Provident Fund Board (CPF) in respect of offences, employee complaints and investigations, and defends against claims made under the Tripartite Alliance for Dispute Management (TADM) framework and claims in the Courts.
