Career

Leong Kah Wah specialises in Shipping & International Trade and has appeared as lead counsel in landmark Court of Appeal judgments of the STX Mumbai and the Bunga Melati 5. He was appointed Senior Accredited Specialist (Shipping and Maritime) by the Singapore Academy of Law.

He also has arbitration experience, being a Fellow of CIArb and SIArb and on panels of SIAC and SCMA. He is a principal mediator of SMC, and senior mediator on Law Society’s panel. He serves on the Advisory Board, Centre of Maritime Law, Board of SCMA and is the Vice President of MLAS.

Kah Wah is highly esteemed by global legal directories, including Chambers Asia Pacific, Benchmark Litigation, and Legal 500, for his expertise and has been described as “one of the top negotiators and legal advisors in the world in terms of maritime law”. He has also been identified as one of the world’s most prominent shipping lawyers by Who’s Who Legal and recognised as one of ALB’s Super 50 Disputes Lawyers in 2022.
