Jaime Renato (Jim) Gatmaytan is a founding partner and the head of Corporate Commercial practice at C&G Law.

Jim advises on corporate and commercial transactions, including equity investments, share and asset acquisitions, lending, security and other financing arrangements, real estate transactions, and construction and infrastructure projects. His experience in energy, construction and infrastructure work tracked the development of build-operate-transfer arrangements in the Philippines, having assisted in a number of infrastructure projects undertaken under the then recently-enacted BOT legislation. These include the development of various diesel-powered generation plants in Mindanao, the 1200-MW gas-fired Ilijan power plant and the 210-MW (net) STEAG State Power Inc. coal-fired power plant, as well as the Manila Metro Rail Transit System Line 3 (MRT3) along EDSA.

Jim has been cited as a leading Philippine lawyer in the Corporate/Commercial field by Chambers Asia Pacific (2010 to 2018), and in the Projects, Energy and Infrastructure space in its 2015 to 2018 publications.  He has also been named as a leading lawyer in the M&A and Project Finance fields in the Philippines in the 2015 to 2018 editions of IFLR1000. The Legal 500 Asia Pacific has recognised him as a leading lawyer in Real Estate and Construction and in Projects and Energy in its 2016 to 2018 publications.

The team, lead by Ben Dominic R. Yap and Jaime Renato B. Gatmaytan has handled a variety of infrastructure projects ranging from liquified natural gas terminals to seaports and toll roads.
