Career
Norhisham is a Corporate and Mergers & Acquisitions Partner at Azmi & Associates. His practice areas cover all corporate matters focusing on mergers & acquisitions, private equity, aviation as well as corporate governance.
Hisham is an Advocate & Solicitor at the High Court of Malaya and graduated from the International Islamic University Malaysia with LLB (Hons.) in 1999. He also holds an MBA in International Business from the Royal Docks Business School from the University of East London.
He has undertaken numerous transactions relating to M&As, foreign investments, takeovers, JVs (both local and cross-borders). Hisham’s experience spans all aspects of structuring, documentation, negotiation, due diligence and regulatory compliance and has represented clients in notable transactions across a number of industries. Hisham’s work is recognized in the Legal 500, IFLR 1000 and Asian Legal Business. He was recommended in the fields of Corporate and Mergers & Acquisitions in the Asia Pacific Legal 500 for 2016 and 2015.
He is also the co-author of the Malaysian chapter in the Mergers & Acquisitions Review 2015 and 2016 (9th and 10th Edition) published by the Law Business Research Ltd, London. He is also the author of the International Comparative Legal Guide on Aviation Law 2017, the Malaysian chapter.
Hisham regularly speaks on legal issues affecting businesses and has coached board members and senior management of blue-chip companies in Malaysia and conducts training on various legal topics for the Securities Industry Development Corporation (SIDC), the Malaysian Institute of Accountants (MIA) and the Malaysian Directors Academy (now known as the Institute of Corporate Directors Malaysia).
