Senior Associate 1

She is currently attached to Global Financial Services and Islamic Banking Practice Group and she has been exposed to various banking matters and real estate property among others:

  • Advising various local banks and financial institutions in relation to the loan/financing documentation for corporate banking granted to various companies;
  • Attending to the loan/financing documentation for retail banking granted to the private company as well as to individual borrower/customer particularly in the finance/refinance the purchase of property (with/without title) as well as (subsale/ direct developer);
  • Attending to the drafting of the Sale and Purchase Agreement for the purchase of property (with/without title) as well as (subsale/ direct developer); and
  • Attending to the drafting of Lease Agreement/ Tenancy Agreement.

Career

Wan Nor Nadia graduated from the International Islamic University Malaysia (“IIUM”) with a First Class in LL.B Syariah (Hons) in 2011 as well as Second Class Upper LL.B (Hons) in 2010.

She was the recipient of several awards during her studies, among others, the Best Student of LL.B Syariah and Best Student for Public International Law. She was also on the Dean’s List for several semesters and was listed in the Rector’s List of the 26th IIUM Convocation. She has a keen interest in Islamic Banking, Corporate Law and Conveyancing.

Her first legal experience was during her first year of studies, as an attachment student in Kuala Lumpur High Court in 2007. During her second year, she was attached at Human Rights Commission (SUHAKAM). She also has done her attachment in a legal firm in Kuala Lumpur.

Wan Nor Nadia joined Azmi & Associates to undertake her pupilage period under the supervision of the Senior Partner, Dato’Azmi Mohd Ali. During her pupilage period, she has been involved in general corporate matters, amongst others, incorporation of private limited company, conversion of private company to public company, change of company name, attending to the amendment of Memorandum and Articles of Association of a public listed company in compliance with Main Market Listing Requirements.

She has also attended various seminars and trainings in relation to islamic banking matters including 1-Day Lawyering Skills Workshop – A Practical Training: Becoming Lawyers / In-House Counsels Par-Excellence, Islamic Finance Seminar-Current Development & Legal Issues in Islamic Banking, Kuala Lumpur Islamic Law Conference and 1-Day Workshop on Clause-by-Clause Analysis of Islamic Banking Documentation.
