Nirav is a Partner in the Mumbai office of DSK Legal. He is a key member of the Dispute Resolution practice and lends his expertise to the firm in strategizing and advising on corporate litigation matters.
Over the last 18 years, Nirav has represented multiple domestic and foreign clients in complex disputes relating to oppression and mismanagement, shareholder deadlock, fraudulent trade practices, takeover bids, restructuring and insolvency. Nirav is also an integral part of the Real Estate team where he advises on disputes relating to the real estate transactions.
Clients often approach Nirav during the pre-disputes stage in finalising the litigation strategy to be adopted in high stakes complex matters. Nirav’s clients include large corporate houses, promoters of large corporate houses, financial brokerages, banks and financial institutions, ship owners, protection & indemnity clubs and global advertising conglomerates.
Nirav is a Solicitor registered with Bombay Incorporated Law of Society and qualified as Solicitor from Supreme Court of England & Wales.

The team at DSK Legal engages with a variety of stakeholders, including debtors, promoters and creditors, providing strategic advice on each step of the insolvency process. Ajay Shaw advises on matters concerning distressed assets and loans for domestic and overseas corporates, and public and private sector banks, while Nirav Shah handles the contentious side of the practice, often appearing before the National Company Law Appellate Tribunal, High Courts and Supreme Court. The team directs its focus towards restructuring of corporate debtors by way of the courts and through contractual frameworks, in addition to liquidation processes and security recovery and enforcement. The dispute resolution practice at DSK Legal was considerably strengthened in July 2022 with the addition of several partners from Luthra and Luthra Law Offices India, including seasoned commercial disputes specialist H.S. Bobby Chandhoke. The incorporation has also enabled the firm to establish a litigation offering in Hyderabad, having already been well established in Mumbai and New Delhi. Managing partner Anand Desai oversees the dispute resolution department from the Mumbai office and regularly represents his clients before the Bombay High Court and the Supreme Court. The team in Mumbai are particularly strong in the media sector, with Parag Khandhar a name to note in that area. In New Delhi, Dinesh Pardasani excels in the projects sphere, while Nirav Shah routinely assists clients in disputes arising from corporate and commercial transactions, shareholder agreements and real estate transactions. At the principal associate level, Iti Agarwal is an active member of the team, especially in project-related disputes.
