Position

Martine acts and advises in relation to all aspects of company and commercial work. Her broad experience includes the sale and purchase of private companies, structuring shareholder arrangements, joint ventures, advising on online gaming, information technology law and all complex commercial negotiations. She specialises in non-contentious information technology/intellectual property work with an emphasis on e-commerce (especially online gaming), emerging technologies and the outsourcing of telecommunication services.

Some of Martine’s work highlights include:

•  acting for a major outsourcing services provider in relation to the provision of outsourced software, IT services and data management with a number of international advertising trade bodies;
•  advising on the acquisition of an aircraft services company for an Australian listed entity;
•  acting for a payments system software licensor in its negotiations with international banks for the global procurement of the software;
•  advising online gaming content providers on the exploitation and protection of their games, implementation projects and interface with back end service providers;
•  advising the shareholders of numerous telecom companies in their exits.

Sport sector expert David Salisbury heads the team at Teacher Stern LLP, which has handled transactions in the restaurant, hotels and leisure, TMT, energy and transport sectors, among others. Martine Nathan, who specialises in technology, acted for online game company Eyecon on its £50m sale to Playtech; Kelly Whitfield focuses on private M&A, while Claire Rollo regularly advises family-owned businesses. Senior associate David Bath is also noted. Clients of the practice include Burger & Lobster Group, Charlton Athletic and El Al Airways. Dov Katz, who specialises in capital markets work, recently left the firm for Greenwoods GRM.
