Position

Sophie Pignon is the partner leading the Public Law – Projects department of Taylor Wessing France.

Sophie Pignon has over 20 years of recognized expertise in public sector contracts (concessions / PPP) and issues related to state-owned property. She advises sponsors and governmental authorities in connection with complex contractual arrangements, primarily in the energy, infrastructure, including transportation and telecommunications, and state-owned real estate sectors, in France and internationally (including in Africa).

She is also involved in public procurement, whether in the context of awarding or executing projects on behalf of private companies or local authorities.

Sophie developed a solid expertise dedicated to regulatory, notably in the industries of energy, transportation and telecoms.

With regards to project finance, she works closely with the Banking and finance team.

Career

Sophie holds a Doctorate in Public and Community Law from the Nice Sophia Antipolis University and a DEA postgraduate in International Public Law from the University of Aix-Marseille III. Admitted to the Paris Bar, she formerly worked as a partner at Bird & Bird.

She moderates several training sessions (Paris-Dauphine-Tunis Campus, Paris-Assas-Ile Maurice Campus) and is the co-author of a book on financing Public-Private Partnerships (Moniteur).
