Position

Martin Eckel is a partner and Head of Competition, EU and Trade at Taylor Wessing Vienna. He is an acknowledged expert in the field of Austrian and European competition law, particularly in the areas of merger control, antitrust investigations, abuse of dominance and contractual competition restraints. For many years, he has been representing clients in various complex antitrust proceedings before the Austrian competition authorities as well as the European Commission. From a large number of cases relating to the areas of construction, building and insulating materials, transports, wholesale & food retail and retail in general, Martin has gained in-depth experience in these industries. Martin is experienced in the handling of multi-jurisdictional-filings and he coordinates the competition advice of Taylor Wessing in CEE.

Career

After his judicial clerkship year he started his legal career with e|n|w|c Attorneys at Law (now Taylor Wessing CEE) as an associate, later continuing it as an attorney. In 2004 he became a partner.
