Career

With over 8 years of experience as a registered Indian Patent Agent, Head of Global Business Operations, Disha is part of the core management of RKD and a practicing lawyer. Disha received her undergraduate degree in Biotechnology from Imperial College London (First Class Honours) and spent a year doing research in the laboratories of the Medical Research Council in London on malaria. She has a Masters in Bioscience Enterprise from Cambridge University and was selected to attend the Stanford Graduate School of Business for the Summer General Management program.

Disha’s patent practice includes drafting patent specifications, supervising searches, responding to office actions, attending to hearings, pre & post grant oppositions, revocations and appeals at the Appellate Board. Disha is also actively involved in trademark prosecution and IP commercialization at the firm.

Disha has served on numerous International Trademark Organization (INTA) committees including Bulletin Committee (2014-2015), Building Bridges Committee (2016-2017) and Unreal Campaign committee (2018-2019). She continues to publish numerous IP related articles for the global IP community & is a frequent speaker at IP conferences. Recognized as a ‘Rising Star’ by Legal 500 and Asialaw Profiles, Disha is a PADI certified scuba diver, and enjoys adventure sports, travel and everything to do with health and fitness.
