Position

Bong Kwang is one of the founding partners of Wong Jin Nee & Teo; handles a wide range of IP matters, principally litigation with regard to patents, trade marks, copyright, designs, trade secrets, passing off, confidential information, information technology and laws relating to pharmaceuticals and cosmetics; presently heads the litigation and patent teams of Wong Jin Nee & Teo.

Career

Admitted as an advocate and solicitor of the High Court of Malaya and called to the Malaysian Bar in 1987; has been in practice in Malaysia since then; one of the founding partners of Wong Jin Nee & Teo since its establishment 2005; registered Patents, Trade Marks and Industrial Designs Agent; was the assistant secretary of the Licensing Executives Society Malaysia (1996-1998), a council member of the Chinese Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Kuala Lumpur and Selangor (1997-2003), deputy chair of the Legal Committee of the Chinese Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Kuala Lumpur and Selangor (1997-2000), a member of the Copyright Law Review Committee set up by the Law Revision and Reform Division of the Attorney General Chambers, Malaysia in 2004; author of the first local text on trade mark law entitled ‘Trade Mark Law and Practice in Malaysia’ published by Butterworths in 2001; advisory editor to the ‘Malayan Law Journal Trade Marks and Service Marks Handbook’ published in 2003. Besides that, he has written and contributed numerous articles and chapters on issues relating to IPRs which were published in various publications.
