Diversity Statement

Stronachs LLP promote an inclusive culture where diversity is valued.  We are committed to ensuring that no one is treated less favourably on the grounds of their gender, sexual orientation, marital status, age, race, religion, religious belief or disability.  As a sign of our commitment to equal opportunities, Stronachs LLP have committed to implementing the Law Society of Scotland’s Equality and Diversity standards.

Within our solicitors, there is a nearly 50/50 split between men and women.  The move to a new office in 2017 has greatly improved our accessibility for both clients and staff.  We have also enjoyed the opportunity to work with external organisations to provide work placements for individuals with disabilities.  Our employees are key to our success we are committed to building a diverse workforce that encourages and recognises every ones full potential.

With our main base in the North East of Scotland, we are fully committed to supporting the local community.  For example, we have close links with local universities with some of our staff teaching on courses, placement opportunities for students and sponsorship of prizes and Aberdeen University Student Law Review.  We also support local schools in both Aberdeen City and Shire by offering work placements for pupils.

We are involved in a variety of pro bono work and this year were appointed by the Scottish Council for Voluntary Organisations (SCVO) to its panel of legal advisors.  We are keen to support local events.  We sponsor organisations such as Ride the North Cycle Challenge since its inception, North East Sensory Services (NESS) and Sport Aberdeen.

As a firm we also look to use local suppliers where possible.

Stronachs have an active Social and Charities Committee and our employees nominate a charity to fundraise for each year.  We are currently partnered with Friends of Anchor and have helped raise much required funds through a variety of events funded by the firm and organised by employees.  We have supported many charities over the years.

Stronachs LLP are determined that all aspects of its operations is managed sustainably and environmental considerations are an important factor in determining how the firm is run.  We recognise the need to be aware of carbon emissions, energy efficiency, waste management, recycling, water consumption and utilisation of low-carbon or renewable sources of energy.  The firm is committed to implementing the following environmental objectives:-

  • Reduce the carbon footprint of the firm.
  • Reduce the amount of waste going to landfill.
  • Seek ways to incorporate environmental opportunities within our daily work.
  • Aspire to best environmental practice.
  • Reduce energy use within the firm's offices.
  • Source goods and services from local suppliers.

Our move to new more efficient offices in 2017 and the introduction of a new document management system have helped us towards these objectives.
