Laura has experience of a wide range of commercial disputes representing companies, funds, liquidators, directors and high net worth individuals. She has significant experience of group litigation. She specialises in large-scale, high-value and complex matters including contract, securities, debt actions, insolvency-related issues and cross border enforcement.

Career

After joining Stewarts from the Office of Fair Trading in 2008, Laura completed her training contract with the firm and qualified in 2010. She was promoted to partner at Stewarts in 2018.

Laura is a member of the Junior London Solicitors Litigation Association. She also mentors state school students intending to pursue a career in the law as part of the City Solicitors Horizons Mentoring Scheme.

Stewarts Law LLP¬†advises on large-scale civil fraud matters with cross-border aspects. The firm is advising RAKIA, which invests the sovereign wealth of Ras Al Khaimah; in a fraud case against a former CEO and other individuals valued at $1.5b. It also continues to act for the liquidators of Kaupthing in connection with a ‚ā¨500m claim against Deutsche Bank which related to the sale of banking derivatives during the credit crunch. Clive Zietman¬†heads the team, he is supported by the ‚Äėimpressive‚Äô Sean Upson¬†who ‚Äėtypically identifies very quickly the available courses of action and then provides prompt and reliable advice as to which option is most feasible and appropriate‚Äô.
