Position

Head of the tax, trusts and charities department. Stuart is a private client and charities specialist with extensive experience of all aspects of tax and trusts, including tax planning for business owners (including exit events and corporate reconstructions), employee incentivisation, investment taxation, family offices and succession planning. His client base includes the founders of household-name businesses, globally wealthy families and individuals listed in the ‘Sunday Times’ Rich List.

Career

Trained Clifford Chance; qualified 1999; Withers 2003-08, partner 2005; partner Stevens & Bolton LLP 2008 to date. Appointed joint branch reporter by the International Fiscal Association to represent the UK at the Rome 2010 congress on ‘Death as a taxable event and its international ramifications’. Regularly quoted in the press on topical tax issues and a regular speaker on the conference circuit.

Stuart Skeffington  heads the team at Stevens & Bolton LLP and provides ‘superb technical tax advice’. Rosie Todd is ‘a superb technical lawyer who has a keen eye on the practical detail and foresees and plans things’. Daryl Fox  heads the probate and estate administration team and provides ‘high service levels and expertise’. The team’s work ranges from complex international tax planning for UHNW non-domiciliaries and for landed estates through to estate administration. The department also has a good understanding of fund structures and has particular expertise in the cross-over between private client and the taxation of funds and corporate structures. Associate Abigail Palmer-Page is ‘very responsive and practical’.
