Career
Ajith is a Senior Partner and co-heads the Firm’s Chennai office. With over 21 years of professional experience, he primarily practices in the areas of Corporate, M&A, Employment, Banking and Aviation laws.
Ajith has extensive transactional experience and has worked on many major M&A and joint venture deals. He routinely advises multinational companies and financial institutions on their India entry strategies and structuring. He has advised clients in diverse sectors on foreign direct investment, technical collaboration, external commercial borrowings, foreign exchange guidelines, corporate restructuring and compliance issues. He also has wide experience in drafting & vetting of commercial contracts.
Ajith has been involved in numerous sensitive employment law & industrial relations matters. He advises clients on employment contracts, issues relating to termination, VRS & ESOP schemes, confidentiality/intellectual property issues and compliances under various labour & employee welfare statutes.
Ajith regularly advises Indian and foreign banks on compliance and regulatory issues under Indian banking regulations. He has wide experience in drafting and review of loan & security documents and other commercial agreements pertaining to banking operations.
As an Aviation law expert, Ajith has extensively represented some of the largest companies on aviation leases and aircraft repossession matters. He has also advised several major aviation leasing and financing entities with respect to their leasing transactions in India. His areas of experience include preparation of jurisdictional analyses, review of aircraft leasing and financing documentation, obtaining of regulatory approvals in India, advising on compliance requirements and structuring of repossession strategies.
