Career

Extensive experience in property-related work including sales and purchases, property regulatory and advisory work, property investment and management, property development, leases and property-related commercial contracts. His clients include property developers and investors, property funds and REITs, hospitality companies, business space providers, multinationals, government authorities and academic institutions. Prior to joining private practice, Teck Howe was a legal officer and development control planner with the Urban Redevelopment Authority. He also served as a tutor for the Legal Case Studies Negotiations Course conducted by the National University of Singapore. Teck Howe was the co-author of the Singapore chapters in the Real Estate Finance & Investment Review 2014/2015 and Getting the Deal Through - Real Estate, 2011 to 2013 editions.

WongPartnership LLP's expertise extends across large-scale development projects, acquisitions, divestments, commercial leasing and related financing for local, regional and international clients. The team acted for ESR Funds Management, the manager of ESR-REIT, on the acquisition and leaseback by RBC Investor Services Trust Singapore of 8 Tuas South Lane, in its capacity as trustee of ESR-REIT, from water treatment specialist Hyflux Membrane Manufacturing for an acquisition cost of approximately S$111m. It also advised Shimizu Corporation on a joint venture with Afro-Asia Shipping Company to redevelop the Afro-Asia Building, an office block in Singapore’s Central Business District, a project with an estimated cost of S$320m. Dorothy Marie Ng, Monica Yip and Tan Teck Howe are the senior members of the team together with Jerry Tan.
