Work Department

Private wealth; private client.

Position

William advises both UK- and non-UK-domiciled clients on a wide range of tax and estate planning issues. William is an expert in devising structures to protect the wealth of his clients and their families and finding innovative solutions to the issues they face. Many of William’s clients are household names, drawn from the worlds of business, property, finance, media and the arts. Experience: designing and implementing practical and effective succession plans for individuals, married couples and families to ensure wealth is protected for future generations against the threats of tax, possible divorce, family disputes and financially immature heirs; advised trustees in a complex and wide-ranging reorganisation of the will trust of a high-profile landowner - the will trust included valuable bloodstock, a stud farm, important artwork and a working country estate; varying a deceased’s estate, comprising 500 acres of land and significant cash and investments, with a view to maximizing agricultural and business property relief and avoiding a significant inheritance tax charge; providing practical and tax-efficient estate planning to families where there are children or heirs from more than one marriage or relationship.
