Education
He obtained his undergraduate studies at the then La Salle College (now University of St. La Salle) in Bacolod City graduating with two degrees (A.B. Economics and B.S.C. Marketing Management) in 1985. He then entered the Ateneo de Manila University Law School where he got his Bachelor of Laws degree, graduating with Second Honors (ranked third in his class) in 1990. He passed the 1990 Bar Examinations where he placed 5th among all successful examinees.
