Career
Yvonne obtained degrees in Commerce and Law from Monash University in Melbourne, Australia in 1999 and 2000 respectively and thereafter read in Chambers with the firm. After being called to the Peninsular Malaysian Bar in January 2002, Yvonne was assigned to the Dispute Resolution Practice Group of the firm for a number of years, where she handled a variety of litigation matters. In 2005 she was transferred to the Intellectual Property Practice Group, where her litigation experience was especially useful in handling contentious IP matters. She became a partner in 2011 and now heads the firm’s Intellectual Property Practice Group.
She is a registered Trademark, Patent and Industrial Designs Agent and deals with all types of intellectual property issues, including brand strategising, IP policies and enforcement and undertaking litigation where necessary. Her clients range from sole proprietorships to multinational companies which are household names.
Yvonne has been recognized as a leading intellectual property practitioner in the 2020 – 2023 editions of Chambers Asia Pacific. The 2021 edition of Asia Pacific Legal 500 described her as “outstanding”.
