Career

Ooi Ling graduated from Malaysia’s premier university, the University of Malaya, in January 2011.  Called to the Peninsular Malaysian Bar in 2012, Ooi Ling became a partner on 1st January 2020.  She is a registered Patent Agent and Trademark Agent and practises in all areas of intellectual property law, handling litigation, prosecution, drafting of documents and enforcement of intellectual property rights and advising on issues such as brand strategy.

Her clients include those from the home products, food and beverages, fashion and clothing, toy, telecommunications and information technology industries. Ooi Ling has been engaged in representing clients in numerous intellectual property disputes involving trademarks, trade names, copyright, industrial designs and patents.

Fluent in Mandarin and Cantonese in addition to English and Bahasa Malaysia, Ooi Ling actively conducts seminars in Mandarin in order to create and increase awareness on intellectual property rights among local associations, start-ups and companies.
