Craig CleaverSlaughter and May

Slaughter and May has a first-rate reputation in big-ticket insurance transactions, with its work covering public and private M&A, debt and equity capital markets and cross-border retrocession/reinsurance deals. It also excels in Part VII (and other) transfers, pension de-risking and contentious work. Showcasing the firm’s strong credentials in this space, its recent work included acting for RSA on its £7.2bn sale to Intact and Tryg. Elsewhere, it has been notably active in advising clients on matters arising from Covid-19 (such as its implications for business interruption policies), as well as Brexit-related issues. Practice head Jonathan Marks has a focus on corporate, governance and risk transfer matters. Also recommended are Craig Cleaver and Nick Bonsall.
