At Slaughter and May, Roland Turnill and others are advising Prudential on the demerger of its UK & Europe business; this transaction will form two separate listed companies. The firm has developed a reputation for advising financial institutions on the impact of Brexit, including potential restructuring options for the asset management and investment fund arms of these entities. Slaughter and May is regularly involved in the biggest insurance M&A transactions in the UK market, and in 2018 led for Standard Life Aberdeen on the £3.2bn sale of its UK and European insurance business to Phoenix and Marsh on its £4.3bn acquisition of JLT.
