Career

Young Chul Shin is a senior partner in Lee & Ko’s Litigation & Arbitration Practice Group. Prior to joining Lee & Ko in 2016, he served with distinction for more than three decades as a judge in Korea’s court system including, most recently, serving for six years as a Korean Supreme Court Justice. Mr. Shin is highly regarded for his expertise, insightful analysis and advice on a wide range of litigation issues in relation to all types of civil, criminal, and administrative law cases.

He is an experienced professional in the field of litigation & arbitration; corporate; banking and finance; trusts; industry; tax & customs; intellectual property; and labor & employment.

In addition to his service as a Supreme Court Justice, Mr. Shin served with distinction as a judge for the Seoul Central District Court, the Seoul High Court, the Daegu District Court and the Cheongju District Court. He also served as a chief presiding judge for the Cheongju District Court and as a chief presiding judge in the Criminal Division of the Seoul Central District Court, as well as serving as the presiding judge for the Suwon District Court and the Seoul Central District Court.
