Career

Caroline has represented vulnerable adults in the Court of Protection for more than ten years and specialises in health and welfare applications.

These concern disputed decisions relating to issues such as care, contact, marriage, serious medical treatment, residence, along with challenges to a person’s deprivation of liberty.

One of her main areas of expertise is cases concerning a person’s capacity to consent to sexual relations, and how vulnerable people can use the internet and social media.

In 2018, Caroline was shortlisted for Legal Aid Lawyer of the Year in the social and welfare law category, and she often shares her expertise by writing blogs and contributing to Community Care magazine with Bridget Dolan QC.

She is also a media representative for Epilepsy Action, is involved in projects concerning Women in the Law, and is authorised to provide information sessions by the Alzheimer’s Society to encourage people to become Dementia Friends.

Leisure

Caroline enjoys baking and sharing her homemade baked goods with her colleagues. She is also a keen reader and enjoys walking and travelling.
