Richard Flitcroft is pragmatic and plain speaking, and knows what you need to do when the regulator calls. His expert knowledge delivers valuable insights to individuals and corporations.

Richard has worked closely with the major market regulators. He has helped clients in investigations by the ACCC, ASIC, the Australian Federal Police, the Australian Crime Commission, NSW ICAC, royal commissions and inquests.

These investigations have concerned anti-competitive conduct and arrangements, consumer protection, systemic financial market issues, insider trading, market disclosure, payments for influence and fraud by suppliers to Commonwealth businesses.

Richard has stood with clients during compulsory examinations and the execution of search warrants, He has advised them about the seizure of materials and the scope of compulsory notices/ warrants, and on legal privilege.

Richard deals with allegations of bribery and corruption.  He has designed and managed independent internal investigations for clients, running alongside regulator investigations

In the competition and consumer protection arena, the ACCC turns to Richard for advice on investigations, and to run litigation. He has expertise in merger clearance, commercial supply and distribution arrangements, joint ventures and agreements between competitors.

He is also experienced in the court-based aspects of schemes of arrangements and shareholder activism.
